The Palmerston North Hospital Foundation is celebrating the completion of its first community funded project, following the blessing of the $700,000 Children’s Emergency Department at Palmerston North Hospital.

The Palmerston North Hospital Foundation’s inaugural project - a dedicated Children's Emergency Department at Palmerston North Hospital - has received a special donation from a trust set up several years ago to support former All Black Aaron Cruden.

The Palmerston North Hospital Foundation has announced the successful completion of their first fundraising project, raising $700,000 for the construction of a dedicated Children’s Emergency Department at Palmerston North Hospital.

Over $130,000 was raised at a charity evening last night, with the funds going towards a new Children’s Emergency Department at Palmerston North Regional Hospital.

Proposed designs for the new Children's Emergency Department have been unveiled this week. The Palmerston North Hospital Foundation, who are funding the project, also announced that they hope to get builders in by Christmas.

A recently launched fundraising drive for a Children’s ED at Palmerston North Hospital is being supported by parents throughout the region. With an average of 650 children under the age of 17 attending Palmerston North ED each month, many families have first-hand experience of the need, including Palmerston North mum, Ellie Guest.
